About Me

Hey! My name's Jen. I think I started building my first website in Notepad around age 11, cobbling it together from bits of HTML I found in different guides because the only computer language I knew was a little bit of FORTRAN 77 (long story) - which, as anyone who knows FORTRAN can tell you, is definitively not a brag.

More of a 'why??', really.

Anyway, that first site has, thankfully, been lost to internet rollover, but I kept spending time on the web, since by then I'd discovered there were geeks on there; my family still had dial-up until around 2013, so if I wanted to look at websites I had to pick sites that would load before the end of my allowed computer time, or the heat death of the universe. So most of the sites I used and visited were what we call the Old Web these days, or even the beginnings of the so-called Old Web Revival, and I've always had a pretty strong preference-slash-nostalgia for that sort of design.

Now, what with the combined dominance and slow collapse of the Big Social Media, and how much easier it's gotten to code your own webpage, I figured I may as well hop on the bandwagon of bringing the good bits back. So, here I am.

Coming (Real Soon Now):

More episodes of Flynn. More links. Recipes. Probably a role-playing games page. Other stuff as it strikes my fancy.
